When Does A Child Need Occupational Therapy?
The need for occupational therapy can result from a variety of things such as problems at birth, orthopedic injuries, or neurological impairments. You may notice your child having delays with age-appropriate tasks such as grabbing or picking up objects, visually tracking objects, buttoning his shirt, forming letters of his name, cutting with scissors, or following multiple-step commands. You or a caregiver may notice sensory processing issues such as over-sensitivity or under-sensitivity to tastes, smells, sounds, or visual stimuli. When you observe these things, it is a good idea to contact an Occupational Therapist for an evaluation.
Every child is unique, but
there are consistent symptoms/behaviors that can help you identify if OT has the potential to help.

How Does the Occupational Therapy Process Work?
